Closing the knowledge gap in terms of Circular Economy and its ambitions
Since a circular economy can only be maintained through reusable and end-thought manufacturing parts, the thinking must be changed.
A thinking beyond the system is more crucial.
After conducting interviews with employees example here in my thesis from an automotive industry, the lack of knowledge in terms of the Circular Economy concept and its principles was very clear.
The awareness of it needs more industrywide practical applications and further research on design for disassembly and intensive attention to material selection.
By recognising the lack of knowledge in terms of Circular Economy concept and its principles, a better understanding in its topic is essential at first.
After all the research in my thesis, one idea I had, was to give the user an experience in which he can quickly access information regarding CE.
Not only, but also to bring him into a world of change in thinking, as this is the key to adapt all principles from its idea.
So, this is were I decided to create a website in which the user can interact with it a lot. It should feel like a movie that explains every important part of CE. This is where an active intervention of the user is helping them to be part of this thinking. And it should be like that.

Another design project derived from the website idea:
Promoting a web application that provides informations regarding a transparent supply chain, resulting in a trust between stakeholders.
It should encourage companies, providers and suppliers to develop materials and components that ensure social and environmental impacts.
With the help of a certification system, verified by experts in the field of CE and C2C, the collaboration with all stake-holders will increase and both parties can develop greater innovations.
First sketches are always first steps towards a more structural design outcome. In the design process, most of the time it helps me to rethink my ideas with all important notes and keywords at one place.
For this project, a storyboard had helped me to define the user flow and requiring steps within the website. During the concept creation, it is possible that some ideas are suddenly redundant and be rethought again.
The outcome of my practical thesis approach was a website sneak peak. I created the animation with Adobe After Effects to show the first impression.
The original idea of the website was an active intervention of the user himself to scroll through the website and have a direct learning experience. So, imagine that a user is opening the website and scrolling through it, while stopping by explanations.
The playful-narrative journey makes the user more emotional and creates a feeling of responsibility subconsciously.
The aim of the project was to generate motivation and awareness of current issues, like the linear way of consumption we have right now. Additionally, rising awareness that all parties have an opportunity to think beyond the current system.
Font pairing: Lato & Roboto
Strong, clear and technical.
Both font families are sans-serifs. Sans-serifs are often preferred on-screen usage. The clean and crisp lines are modern and mainly for an audience who don't have much time to read. Furthermore, it's readability throughout different screen dimensions.
Lato has semi-round corners pleasant for the eyes, which displays warmth, harmony and elegance. To add, it's character is strong and stable and not to mention, the letterfont is easy to read.
Roboto is a flexible and geometric sans-serif typeface. It shares quite the same characteristics as Lato. It is a modern and technical font that doesn't forget sympathic and emotional attributes.
